Evermusic

Evermusic is a cloud music player for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that streams and downloads songs from iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, MEGA, Box, pCloud, Yandex Disk, WebDAV, SMB, DLNA, NAS devices, and dozens more. This FAQ answers the questions users send most often about supported formats and protocols, Premium features, offline playback, CarPlay, widgets, backups, and troubleshooting. For step-by-step walkthroughs, see the Evermusic User Guide or browse our How-to articles.

What is Evermusic?

Evermusic is a cloud music player for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that lets you stream, download, and organize tracks from multiple cloud services, NAS devices, and local storage — all from a single, unified library.

You can easily download music to play offline, create and manage playlists, and use a built-in equalizer to enhance your listening experience. The app works with services like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud Drive, MEGA, Box, pCloud, Yandex Disk and many more, so you can keep all of your music in one place and access it from any device.

Evermusic supports a wide range of audio formats and lets you organize your music library by artist, album, genre, and composer. You can sync your library between cloud storage and your device, ensuring your favorite tunes are always available — even on a flight or in airplane mode.

With features like gapless playback, crossfade, audio equalizer, lyrics, widgets, Apple CarPlay, AirPlay, and Google Chromecast streaming, Evermusic is a complete music solution for any iPhone, iPad, or Mac user who keeps music in the cloud or on a personal NAS.

How does Evermusic work?

Evermusic works by linking your cloud storage accounts and personal NAS to a single, searchable music library on your device. Once you connect an account, you can browse and stream tracks directly from the cloud, or download your favorite songs, albums, and playlists for offline playback.

The app supports multiple audio formats, making it easy to play any music file you have stored — whether it’s MP3, FLAC, ALAC, AAC, WAV, AIFF, or one of dozens of other formats. Cloud connections use official SDKs and OAuth flows, so your password never reaches the app and all transfers are encrypted.

In addition to cloud integration, Evermusic offers powerful features to enhance your listening experience. You can create and manage playlists, use the built-in equalizer to adjust sound quality, and enjoy seamless playback with gapless and crossfade options. The app also streams to devices like Chromecast and AirPlay, letting you play your music on any compatible speaker, TV, or hi-fi system.

You can organize your music library by artist, album, genre, and composer, and keep it synchronized across your cloud storage and devices, ensuring you always have access to your favorite tunes. A built-in metadata reader scans tracks in the background, reads tags, and groups them automatically as new files are added.

Moreover, Evermusic plays local files stored directly on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. You can import music from your device’s storage or from your iTunes / Apple Music library. This means you can enjoy your entire music collection in one place — cloud, NAS, USB drive, or local storage — all from one app, on one screen.

Is Evermusic free?

Yes — Evermusic is a free application with some limits that you can remove by upgrading to the Premium version.

The application offers a one-time lifetime in-app purchase and two subscription options (1 month and 1 year) to remove all restrictions, so you can pick the price and commitment that fits you best. Prices may vary depending on your country or territory. Also, please keep in mind that Family Sharing is enabled for all purchases and plans, so you can share the Premium version with up to five other members of your family at no extra cost.

Lifetime purchases and subscriptions are shared between iOS and Mac, using iCloud to sync this information. If you already own the Premium version on your iOS device, please ensure you have the latest version installed and that iCloud is enabled. Start the app on iOS and wait about one minute for your purchase information to upload to iCloud, then launch the Mac version while signed in to the same Apple ID — Premium activates automatically.

If activation does not happen automatically, open Settings → Purchases → Restore Purchases to manually pull purchase records from the App Store.

What is the difference between Evermusic Free (blue icon) and Evermusic Pro (red icon)?

Evermusic Pro (red icon) has the exact same functionality as Evermusic Free (blue icon) with an activated Premium in-app purchase, same features, same look. The differences are how the apps are packaged on the App Store, Mac compatibility, price, and privacy defaults.

App Store packaging:

  • Evermusic Free (blue) is published as two separate App Store apps with separate bundle IDs — one for iOS / iPadOS and a dedicated one for macOS (Universal binary that runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs). Purchases made in one of the blue apps are shared with the other via iCloud — buy Premium in Evermusic Free on iPhone and it automatically unlocks Premium in Evermusic Free on Mac (and vice versa), as long as both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud enabled.
  • Evermusic Pro (red) is a single App Store app with a single bundle ID that runs on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Macs (M1 and later). Because there’s only one bundle, there’s nothing to sync — one purchase covers every supported device. Evermusic Pro does not support Intel Macs.

Key differences:

  • Mac compatibility. The blue Mac app is Universal and works on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The red app is Apple Silicon-only (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5 and later) — no Intel Mac support.
  • Price. Because Evermusic Pro (red) skips the Intel Mac build, its App Store price is slightly lower than the equivalent Premium in-app purchase in the blue app.
  • Privacy / analytics. Evermusic Pro (red) does not collect any user diagnostics or analytics at all — analytics are completely disabled in the build, with no opt-in option. The blue Evermusic Free uses standard analytics defaults, which you can turn off at any time under Settings → Analytics and Data Collection.
  • Cross-app purchase. Bundle IDs differ between blue and red, so a Premium purchase activated in the blue app does not unlock the red app for free, and vice versa. Purchase sync works within the same color — blue iOS ↔ blue Mac via iCloud, or red automatically across all of its supported devices.

Which one should I choose?

  • Evermusic Free (blue) + Premium — best for the widest device coverage: iPhone, iPad, Apple Silicon and Intel Mac, with one Premium purchase covering both the iOS and Mac blue apps via iCloud purchase sync.
  • Evermusic Pro (red) — best if you only use iPhone, iPad, and an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later), you prefer a lower upfront price, and you want a build with no analytics or diagnostics collected at all (no opt-in option).

If you already use the blue app with Premium activated, there is no need to install the red app — you already have everything Pro offers.

Is Evermusic safe?

Yes — Evermusic uses only official SDKs and secure connections to interact with connected cloud services. Your login and password are never visible to the application, and all requests are encrypted.

When you enter your login and password, the application shows you the official authorization page provided by the cloud service itself, and the entire authorization process happens outside Evermusic. The cloud provider then sends an auth-token back to the app after successful authorization, and that token is used to make all subsequent API calls — Evermusic never sees your real credentials.

An auth-token is a digital key that allows third-party applications to interact with cloud storage on your behalf. The token is stored on your device in Apple’s secure system storage (Keychain), which is encrypted at rest and protected by your device passcode or biometric lock. You can download files from any connected cloud service to your device; those files are placed in the app’s Documents directory, where you can manage or remove them at any time using the built-in file manager.

The application does not share any information from your connected cloud accounts with Everappz, advertisers, or any third party. You can revoke access to your cloud account at any time by opening the account-settings page in your web browser. To revoke an auth-token, log in to your cloud account on the web, navigate to the security or connected-apps page, and remove the entry for Evermusic.

You can also disconnect the cloud account inside the application itself — when you do, the auth-token is immediately deleted from your device. If you uninstall the application from your device, all downloaded data and access tokens are removed automatically along with it.

How do I make a playlist in Evermusic?

To create a playlist, open the Playlists tab, tap “+” or the “…” menu, choose “New Playlist,” give it a name, and pick the tracks you want to add.

  • Open the Playlists section from the main navigation.
  • Tap + or the "…" button in the top right corner and select New Playlist.
  • Enter a name for the playlist and tap Save — the Add Songs dialog appears automatically.
  • Choose tracks from one of four sources:
    • Library — tracks already imported into your music library.
    • Files in This Application — audio files stored in the app’s Documents directory.
    • Files on This iPhone / iPad / Mac — audio files located in other folders on your device, outside the app.
    • Connections — online files stored in connected cloud storage services.
  • Tap Done to save your selection.

By default, each song can be added to a playlist only once. To allow duplicate songs, enable Settings → Library → Playlists → Duplicates in a Playlist → Enable. You can later change song order, rename the playlist, edit its cover image, and export it to M3U, CSV, or TXT.

To import an M3U playlist, open the Playlists section, tap the “…” menu, select “Import Playlist,” then pick the .m3u, .m3u8, or .cue file from your cloud storage or device.

The app parses the playlist file, locates each referenced track on your storage, and creates a real playlist in your music library. Supported file extensions are M3U, M3U8, and CUE. Make sure the paths inside the playlist file match where the audio files actually live on the storage.

How do I export a playlist to M3U, CSV, or TXT?

What cloud services does Evermusic support?

Evermusic connects to most popular cloud storage providers and personal NAS devices — including iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive (Personal and Business), Box, MEGA, Yandex Disk, WD My Cloud Home, MediaFire, pCloud, HiDrive, 百度网盘 (Baidu), InfiniCLOUD, Cloud Mail.ru, Put.io, MyDrive, and many more.

In addition to dedicated cloud services, Evermusic supports the standard network protocols WebDAV, SMB, FTP / SFTP, NFS, and DLNA / UPnP. This means you can connect almost any NAS device — Synology, QNAP, WD My Cloud Home, Buffalo, Apple Time Capsule — as well as a regular Windows, macOS, or Linux file share, a self-hosted Nextcloud / ownCloud server, or a UPnP / DLNA media server.

Each connection uses the official SDK or open protocol of the service, with OAuth-based authorization where supported. You can connect multiple accounts of the same service (for example, two Google Drive accounts) and browse them side-by-side in the Connections screen. Premium users can add an unlimited number of services; the free version is limited to three.

Does Evermusic support Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Subsonic, and Navidrome?

Yes — Evermusic connects natively to Plex Media Server, Jellyfin, Emby, Subsonic, and Navidrome, so you can stream your self-hosted music library directly from any of them without exposing the underlying file share.

  • Plex Media Server — tap Connect a cloud service → Plex, sign in with your Plex account, and pick a server. Plex servers on the same local network are also auto-discovered in the Available Devices section.

Once connected, each server appears alongside your cloud accounts in the Connections screen. Does Evermusic support gapless playback?

Yes — Evermusic supports true gapless playback, ideal for classical music, live recordings, DJ mixes, and concept albums.

Enable it in Settings → Audio Player → Gapless Playback. If you run into issues, switch the audio processor to CoreAudio in Settings → Audio Player → General, since gapless behaves differently between AVFoundation and CoreAudio backends. Note that gapless cannot be used together with crossfade — pick whichever fits the album you are listening to.

Does Evermusic support crossfade playback?

Yes — Evermusic supports crossfade playback so the next track starts blending in before the current one ends.

Open Settings → Audio Player → Crossfade Playback and choose how many seconds of overlap you want. Crossfade is not available for AirPlay or Google Chromecast output. If crossfade and the equalizer do not work together on iOS 17.0–17.6, switch the audio processor to CoreAudio.

How do I change playback speed in Evermusic?

Open the audio player, tap the speed control, and drag the slider — or use the precise slider for fine adjustments down to 0.05× steps.

You can also change the default speed in Settings → Audio Player → Playback Speed. For higher speeds, switch the Audio Pitch Algorithm to Spectral or Varispeed to pick the sound character you prefer.

How can I resume a playlist or album from where I left off?

Enable Save Audio Player State in Settings → Audio Player → General, then tap Continue Playback at the top of any playlist or album to resume from the exact last position.

First, make sure Save Audio Player State is enabled in Settings → Audio Player → General. You may also want to turn on Save Playback Position so that the position inside each individual track is remembered too. With both options enabled, when you switch to another playlist, album, artist, genre, or folder and then come back, you will see four actions on the top toolbar under the album artwork: Search, Continue Playback, Play All, and Shuffle All.

Tap Continue Playback to resume the playlist from the last saved state and media position. If you want to restore playback for an individual file rather than a whole collection, tap that specific file — it will start at the exact second you stopped, including the right disc, track, and chapter position for multi-disc albums and audiobooks.

The CarPlay interface includes dedicated tabs for Library, Connections, Local Files, and Settings, giving you full control over your music on the road. Enable widget updates in Settings → Widgets, then long-press your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap “+”, search “Evermusic,” and pick a widget size.

How do I edit MP3 tags from Evermusic?

Tap “…” on any track and choose Edit Audio Tags to open the built-in tags editor — you can change title, artist, album, year, genre, lyrics, album cover, and more.

You can fine-tune the editor in Settings → Audio Tags Editor — including album-cover scaling, whether changes are written back to cloud files, and which buttons appear on the editor’s main screen. For batch editing across many files at once, install our companion app Evertag, designed specifically for tag editing and library cleanup. Learn more about Evertag.

How do I fix missing album covers in Evermusic?

Open Settings → Library → Album Covers, enable “Load Album Covers for Online Files” and “Search in the Folder,” then pick a higher cover quality if needed — the app will pull embedded artwork from your cloud files and use JPEG / PNG images stored alongside your audio files when no embedded cover exists.

You can also pick the album cover quality and tap Delete All to clear the cover cache and force a refresh. To replace a specific cover manually, tap "…" → Edit Image on the album, playlist, or track and pick a new image from your photo library, the Files app, or one of your connected cloud services. For deeper control over the artwork stored inside the audio file itself, use Edit Audio Tags or our companion app Evertag.

How do I rate songs in Evermusic?

Open the audio player or any track’s “…” menu, choose Edit Audio Tags, then set a rating from 1 to 5 stars — ratings are saved to the file’s metadata and follow it across devices.

You can sort albums, playlists, and the music library by rating, so highly-rated tracks rise to the top. Ratings also stay readable in other tag editors and music players that support the standard rating tag.

How do I add a song to favorites in Evermusic?

Tap “…” on any track and choose Add to Favorites — favorites appear under Music Library → Favorites and, optionally, under Local Files → Favorites.

Open Music Library → Recents to see a list of every track you have recently played; you can clear the list or export it to M3U, CSV, or TXT.

Change how many entries the list keeps via Settings → Library → Recents → Change List Size. Use Delete List to clear history if you want a fresh start, or Export Songs List to keep an archive of your listening history.

How do I delete a song from Evermusic without deleting it from my cloud storage?

On any track, tap “…” → Delete from Music Library — this removes the song from your library database but leaves the file untouched in cloud storage and Local Files.

To also remove the file from the cloud or local device, choose Delete from Cloud Service or Delete File instead. These actions cannot be undone, so be careful when you have multiple files selected.

How do I back up and restore my Evermusic music library?

Open Settings → Backup & Restore, select what to include (Database, Album Covers, Settings), tap “Backup Application Data,” and save the backup file — open it on another device to restore.

The backup contains your music library entries, playlists, ratings, favorites, settings, and album cover cache. It does not include offline-downloaded audio files, to keep the file size manageable. Move the backup file to the new device via iCloud Drive, AirDrop, or any connected cloud service, then open it in Evermusic to apply.

All Evermusic Premium plans — lifetime, monthly, and annual — work with Apple Family Sharing, so anyone in your family group can install Evermusic and use Premium at no extra cost.

Set up Family Sharing in iOS / macOS Settings → Family, then have each family member install Evermusic from the App Store and run it once while signed in to their own Apple ID. Premium is recognized automatically within a minute. The same plan is shared between iPhone, iPad, and Mac for every family member.

How do I cancel my Evermusic Premium subscription?

Open iOS or macOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, find Evermusic, and tap Cancel Subscription — your Premium features stay active until the end of the current billing period.

Lifetime in-app purchases are not subscriptions and do not need to be cancelled. For refunds, use Apple’s Report a Problem page (reportaproblem.apple.com) — refunds are issued by Apple, not by Everappz.

How do I protect Evermusic with a passcode?

Open Settings → Passcode, tap Enable, and pick a 4-digit code — you’ll be prompted to enter it every time the app launches.

Evermusic uses a fixed 4-digit numeric passcode. The passcode prevents anyone with access to your device from opening Evermusic and browsing your connected cloud accounts, downloaded files, and library. Combine it with iOS Face ID / Touch ID on the device for extra protection.

How do I enable dark mode in Evermusic?

Open Settings → Personalization → Color Scheme, then pick Dark, Light, or Default (which follows your system appearance).

You can also pick alternate app icons in Settings → Personalization → Application Icon (Premium), and choose a blurred album cover as the app background under Background Style.

How do I free up storage used by Evermusic?

Open Settings → File Manager → Delete Temporary Files and Settings → Library → Album Covers → Delete All to clear caches; use Local Files to delete downloaded music you no longer need.

You can also remove individual offline folders in Settings → File Manager → Synchronized Offline Folders → “…” → Disable Offline Mode, which deletes the local copies. Streaming-only content does not use storage at all.

Why is my cloud music not syncing in Evermusic?

Most sync issues are caused by an expired auth token, app backgrounding, or no active internet connection — open Connections, re-authorize the service, then run sync manually from Settings → Library → Online Synchronization.

Online sync runs only when the app is in the foreground, so syncing a large library can take a while. To speed it up, keep Evermusic open, plug your device into power, and enable Settings → Screen → Always Active. For very large libraries, run sync on the desktop version of the app and transfer the result to iOS using Backup & Restore.

How do I contact Evermusic support?

Open Settings → Send Feedback to email our support team directly from the app, with diagnostic info attached automatically.

You can also visit the Help Center, browse the How-to guides, or check the broader FAQ for self-serve answers. We typically reply within one business day.

How do I search for a song, album, or artist in Evermusic?

Tap the magnifying-glass icon in any list — Music Library, Playlists, Albums, Artists, Genres, or inside a folder — and type a name to filter results instantly.

Search is local and works fully offline against your library database, so results appear as you type even on slow networks. You can also search inside a specific playlist or album to find a single track among hundreds. Tracks, albums, artists, genres, and composers are all searchable.

Can I play audiobooks or podcasts with Evermusic?

Yes — Evermusic plays any audiobook or podcast file your storage holds in a supported format (MP3, M4A, M4B, AAC, WAV, AIFF, and others), with bookmarks, variable playback speed, and a sleep timer for bedtime listening.

Use Bookmarks to mark interesting positions, enable Save Playback Position in Settings → Audio Player → General so the app remembers where you stopped, and add Playback Speed to the player’s main screen for quick 1.25× / 1.5× / 2× control. Long audiobook chapters and .m4b files with chapter markers are fully supported.

How do I bookmark a specific position in a track or audiobook?

Open the audio player and tap the Add Bookmark button to save the current playback position — bookmarks appear in the track’s “…” menu under Bookmarks.

Enable the Add Bookmark action in Settings → Audio Player → Personalization → Main Screen Actions to put the button right on the player. Bookmarks are stored per-track and persist between sessions, making them ideal for audiobooks, lectures, and long DJ mixes.

Does Evermusic work with Bluetooth headphones, AirPods, and external DACs?

Yes — Evermusic plays through any audio output your iPhone, iPad, or Mac can use: built-in speakers, wired headphones, Bluetooth devices (AirPods, Beats, Sony, Bose, etc.), and USB / Lightning DACs.

For Hi-Res output to an external DAC, switch the audio processor to CoreAudio in Settings → Audio Player → General and pick the appropriate Audio Output Sample Rate and number of channels. AirPods’ on-stem controls (play/pause, next/previous) work as expected, and the lock-screen controls can be customized in Settings → Audio Player → Personalization → Playback Controls on the Lock Screen.

How do I use a USB flash drive or SD card with Evermusic on iPhone or iPad?

Plug the drive into the iPhone or iPad via the Lightning-to-USB or USB-C adapter, then in Evermusic open Local Files → Files on This iPhone → Open Folder, navigate to the drive, and pick the music folder.

The app plays files directly from the drive without copying them to internal storage, which is useful for very large lossless libraries. You can also import tracks to the music library or add them to playlists in the same way. See the full step-by-step instructions in How to connect a USB flash drive to iPhone and listen to music.

How do I change the language of the Evermusic interface?

Open Settings → Language, pick from over 120 supported languages, then restart the app for the change to take effect.

The app supports localizations including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Dutch, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Vietnamese, Turkish, and many more. Choose Default to follow the device’s language setting automatically. After selecting a new language, fully quit Evermusic and reopen it so every screen redraws with the new translations.
