Evermusic 9.0: Customizable Tab Bar and Sidebar, Media Library Sync, and a Refreshed Design
TL;DR: Evermusic 9.0 is a big layout release for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. You can now reorder and edit the tab bar and sidebar, pick which items show up, add extra items, and collapse or expand the Connect, Local Files, Media Library, and Settings sections. A new option minimizes the tab bar while you scroll for a cleaner view, and Cloud Files now has search. Your Media Library can sync external folders, and metadata sync was rebuilt with a live total and processed counter so you always see progress. The design is refreshed for the newest iPhone and iPad, including folding devices, with tuned glass backgrounds, top and bottom bars, and colors that match the system light and dark look. Settings are reorganized, Bookmarks and Comments tabs work on iPhone, you can exclude the app from iTunes and iCloud backup, and there is Last.fm album artist scrobbling, a Google Cast artwork fix, and new translations.
Hello everyone!
Evermusic 9.0 is ready to download. This update is about making the app yours. You decide which tabs you see, how they are ordered, and how much of the screen the interface takes up. We also made the Media Library smarter, refreshed the whole look for the latest iPhone and iPad, and cleaned up Settings so everything is easier to find.
Customizable Tab Bar and Sidebar
The biggest change in 9.0 is that the main layout is now yours to shape. The tab bar at the bottom of the iPhone and the sidebar on the iPad are no longer fixed. You choose what goes where.
- Reorder and edit your tabs. Pick which items appear in the tab bar and in the sidebar, then arrange them in the order you like. Drag them around until the app matches the way you actually listen.
- Add extra items. Bring more of the app to the surface. If you open the same screen every day, put it one tap away.
- Collapse or expand sections. The Connect, Local Files, Media Library, and Settings sections can fold away when you do not need them and open back up when you do. This keeps long lists short and easy to scan.
- Minimize the tab bar on scroll. Turn on the new option and the tab bar slides out of the way as you scroll through a list, giving you more room for your music and a cleaner, more focused view. It comes back the moment you need it.
Because the player and the core screens stay available no matter how you arrange things, you can customize freely without losing access to anything important.
Search in Cloud Files
Finding a file in a large cloud account used to mean a lot of scrolling. In 9.0, Cloud Files has its own search. Type part of a name and jump straight to the track, album, or folder you want, across your connected cloud storage. It is a small change that saves a lot of taps, especially on accounts with thousands of files.
Media Library
The Media Library is where Evermusic keeps your songs, albums, artists, and playlists together in one organized place. Version 9.0 makes it more capable and more reliable.
- External folders can sync into your Media Library. Folders you keep outside the app, such as a folder on an external drive or another location on your device, can now feed into the Media Library. Your tracks show up alongside everything else, with the same browsing and search.
- Rebuilt metadata sync with a live counter. When Evermusic reads titles, artists, albums, and artwork from your files, you now see a total and a processed counter that updates as it works. You always know how far along the sync is and how much is left, instead of staring at a spinner.
- Many reliability fixes. We fixed a long list of issues in both local and external file syncing, so your library builds correctly and stays correct.
Design and Layout
Evermusic 9.0 is built for the newest hardware and the latest system look.
- Full iPhone Duo support. The app is fully ready for the folding iPhone Duo. The layout adapts to the new sizes and shapes, so everything lines up and nothing gets cut off. The tab bar, the mini player, the glass top and bottom bars, and the split view all adjust correctly on both the inner and the outer screen, so Evermusic feels complete whether you use it folded or unfolded.
- Refined glass backgrounds and bars. The translucent glass surfaces and the top and bottom bars were tuned so text stays readable and the chrome feels light instead of heavy.
- Colors that match the system. Light and dark appearance now track the system more closely, so Evermusic feels at home next to your other apps in both modes.
- Split view and navigation polish. Lots of smaller fixes across split view on iPad and the way you move between screens, so transitions are smoother and layouts stay stable when you rotate or resize.
Settings, Reorganized
Settings grew over the years, so we gave it a cleanup. The options are the same power you expect, just easier to reach.
- Clearer structure. Settings are grouped across User Interface, Personalization, Media Library, File Manager, and CarPlay, so related options live together and you spend less time hunting.
- Bookmarks and Comments on iPhone. The Bookmarks and Comments tabs, which help you mark spots in long tracks and keep notes, are now available on iPhone, not just the larger screens.
Backup
- Exclude the app from iTunes and iCloud backup. There is a new option to keep Evermusic out of your device backups. This is handy when you store a large offline library and do not want it filling your iCloud space or stretching out your computer backups. Turn it on and your backups stay lean.
More
- Last.fm album artist scrobbling. A new option sends the album artist to Last.fm, which keeps compilations and multi artist albums tidy in your listening history.
- Google Cast artwork fix. Album art now shows correctly when you cast to a Google Cast device.
- New and updated translations. More of the app reads naturally in more languages.
- Numerous smaller fixes and performance improvements throughout, based on your emails and App Store reviews.
Why This Update Matters
Evermusic 9.0 is built around one idea: the app should fit the way you listen, not the other way around.
- A layout you control. Reorder the tab bar and sidebar, add the items you use, collapse the ones you do not, and minimize the tab bar for a cleaner view. The app finally bends to your habits.
- A smarter library. External folders now sync in, metadata sync shows real progress, and a long list of reliability fixes keeps your collection accurate.
- A fresh, native look. Full support for the newest iPhone and iPad and folding devices, tuned glass surfaces, and colors that match the system make Evermusic feel right on today’s hardware.
